As summer officially starts, I find myself back in Toronto, after travelling overseas to visit family and craving some Toronto Island time. There was flooding there in late May when i left and I’m hoping the good people of the Island have been able to recover and that tourist season will be good to them.

One of my favourite things about Toronto, the Island is also one of the most charming venues nearest to downtown Toronto that i can think of. With it’s tree-lined paths to the beach, a boardwalk extending into the sunset and the sweet Island-Cafe, there is so much to love about this place. It was easy to see why Andrea and Chris chose the Island as their wedding venue last August. I felt like I was going on vacation, heading over there via the ferry to ‘work’ on the brides’ hair and makeup and was honoured to be invited to stay for the ceremony and celebrations.
